DECEMBER
The whole of December 2017 was festive and relaxed. The highlight was on New Years Eve (31 December 2017) where an an outstanding performance was given by Paschira Zangari.
The annual Oscar nominations were also done on new year eve in true Mafia style and followeed by the spectacular fire works on the mountain.
DECEMBER
On Christmas day, the usual lunch with tables loaded with the finest of the finest. A big thanks to Tommie, Gideon, David, Theuns, Edemo, Klifford, Israel, Paul, Paul, Glenn, Patsie, Tom, Lionell and Elvis for all the hard work, preparations and cleaning.
Friends were festively together, enjoying the meal and remembering those who are far away, or not with us anymore .
NOVEMBER
The annual Mr Voëlkop (25 November 2017) was once again a red carpet event in style of "Men At Work". A big thanks to Martin for the hard work to get everything in place.
The 25 year old Jacques Burger is the new Mr Voëlkop 2018. He is from Roodepoort and over and above his full time work in education (Social Science), he plans to support Voëlkop during the year by visiting as frequent as possible, spread the word about the Guest Farm and if at all possible, be present at the events through the year.
SEPTEMBER
German Crown Prince Ludwig, later to become King Ludwig I, was married to Princess Therese of Saxony-Hildburghausen on 12th October 1810. The citizens of Munich were invited to attend the
festivities held on the fields in front of the city gates to celebrate the happy royal event. We here at Voëlkop continue this tradition and combining it with Halloween, a party to be seen at

SEPTEMBER
22-25 September (Spring Games long weekend - men only).
- Monday 25 September is Heritage day.
- Spring Games (Men only) took place on Saturday 23 September - (refer to 2015 and 2016 pages.)

AUGUST
25 -27 August (Miss Trash)
Bad dress code and good behaviour once again made Miss Trash a good start for summer with winners Raymond, Anton and Veerachan.
JULY
1 to 16th July was open/Straight weeks and weekends.
- For the 1st half of July we had the opportunity to bring our other family, sister, mother and friends along and the facilities are also available for functions.
- On 15 July a potjie kos competition is planned. Bring your own ingredients and let the guests do the testing.
- Great special on accommodation and shooters.
JUNE
16 June
It was a long weekend with Friday 16 is a public holiday, hence made it a long weekend with a three day break in the hot pool.
MAY
26-28 May: Soup kitchen and Tramp party.
APRIL
27 – 2 May
- Thursday 27th and 1 May public holidays and the cook-off was done in style with pork belly and ox liver.
14-17 April (Easter weekend)
- Come for the day to pay only R30 day rate.
- Easter Bonnet parade took place on the 15th with costumes made from materials found on the farm and main contestants were (as below) Jacques, Justin, Raymond, Werner and Jaco (winner).
MARCH
17-21 March
Long weekend to break away and relaxed.
4 March:
A small intimate ceremony took place to remember uncle Dave Joubert who passed away on 17 January 2017 - his windmills will turn forever.
FEBRUARY
24-26 February:
The “Be my Valentine” party was indeed Valentine with colorful and fresh idea's of love.
